Černá hora (1299 m a.s.l.) is a prominent summit in the central Krkonoše Mountains, towering above the spa town of Janské Lázně. Thanks to the cable car and extensive ski area, it is one of the most popular winter holiday destinations, offering ideal conditions for hiking, mountain biking, and paragliding. From the top, panoramic views open up to Sněžka, the ridges of the Krkonoše, and the Polish side of the mountains.
The history of tourism on Černá hora dates back to the 19th century, when the first trails and shelters were established. In 1928, an aerial cable car was opened, making access easier and contributing to the development of skiing. Today, a modern cable car with a transfer station at Černohorské sedlo leads to the summit, from where you can continue on ridge hikes. The surrounding area features peat bogs, mountain meadows, and stone fields typical of the Krkonoše.
Tips for visitors: Enjoy relaxation in the spa center in Janské Lázně, explore the Černohorská rašeliniště nature trail, or in summer take the ridge path to Pec pod Sněžkou. Don't forget suitable mountain clothing and check the current cable car operation. Refreshments are available at several mountain huts.
