Botanicus in Ostrá is a unique place that combines the beauty of gardens with demonstrations of traditional crafts. It was founded in 1993 as a small herb garden and gradually grew into a vast complex with a craft center, historical workshops, and gardens inspired by various eras. It also includes a restaurant with its own cuisine using local herbs and fresh ingredients.
In the area you can visit a medieval village with a forge, pottery workshop, bakery, and other craft workshops where masters demonstrate their skills. Stroll through formal herb gardens, orchards, or picturesque corners full of flowers. Thematic events such as markets, craft festivals, or workshops for children and adults are regularly held here.
Botanicus is open from April to October; it is ideal to plan a full-day trip. The area is suitable for families with children, partially wheelchair accessible, and dogs are welcome on a leash. We recommend trying homemade lemonades and cookies from the local bakery. The entrance fee includes a tour of the gardens and the craft village; some activities are for an additional fee.
