The second oldest botanical garden in the Czech Republic attracts with exotic flora, a peaceful environment, and a unique collection of cacti and orchids.
Botanická zahrada in the heart of the spa town Teplice is one of the oldest botanical gardens in the Czech Republic. Its history dates back to the 19th century, when it was established as a school garden for nature education. Today it serves not only experts but also the general public, who can admire extensive collections of plants from around the world.
The biggest attraction is the tropical greenhouse with orchids, carnivorous plants, and ferns, as well as the cactus greenhouse with rare succulents. The outdoor exhibition includes a rock garden, a Japanese garden, and examples of local flora. The garden also organizes exhibitions and sales events for gardeners.
The garden is easily accessible from the center of Teplice, ideal for a relaxing walk after the spa promenade. It is open year-round, daily during the main season. We recommend a visit in spring when rhododendrons and azaleas bloom, or in summer when annuals burst with colors.
