The Botanical Garden in Troja is one of the most modern in Europe. Its history dates back to 1969 when it was founded, but it opened to the public only in 1992. It covers 50 hectares in the picturesque Vltava valley and offers visitors a unique blend of nature, garden architecture, and art.
The biggest attraction is the Fata Morgana tropical greenhouse with a butterfly zone, where you find yourself in the middle of a rainforest. The outdoor exhibits include a Japanese garden, an alpine garden, a rose garden, and extensive perennial beds. Don't forget to visit St. Clare's vineyard with a Romanesque chapel and taste local wine in a pleasant wine pavilion.
The area is ideal for family trips – with children you can walk along educational trails, admire water features, and during the season take advantage of interactive programs. We recommend comfortable shoes and booking tickets online, especially in the summer months. There is a café and picnic areas on site.
