Belvedere viewpoint offers one of the most beautiful views into the Elbe Canyon with impressive rock walls and the winding river flow.
The rock viewpoint Belvedere (also Belvedér) is located on the edge of the Elbe Canyon above the village Labská Stráň, about 3 km from Hřensko. There is a historic excursion chateau from the 18th century, built by Count Clary-Aldringen as a favorite resting place for the nobility. From the terrace, you get a breathtaking view of the impressive sandstone walls, deep forests, and the ribbon of the Elbe far below you.
You can easily reach Belvedere via the red tourist trail from Hřensko (about 1 hour walk) or by car, parking at the lot on the road from Hřensko to Labská Stráň. The viewpoint is freely accessible; in season, there is a refreshment stand and souvenirs. Due to the exposed location, be careful of vertigo, but it is still an ideal destination for families with children.
Don't forget your camera during the visit – the play of light on the rocks during the day creates a unique atmosphere. Nearby, you can take trips to Pravčická brána or the gorges of Kamenice, making for a beautiful full-day program in the heart of Czech Switzerland.
