Explore the preserved infantry bunker and museum of Czechoslovak fortifications from 1935-1938 in the beautiful landscape of Podyjí.
The Czechoslovak fortification complex in Šatov presents a unique exhibition of the pre-war fortress system that was meant to protect Czechoslovakia from Nazi Germany. The main object is the infantry bunker MJ-S 3 "Zahrada", which is fully equipped and armed to its original state from 1938.
Visitors can enjoy a tour of underground corridors, displays of period weapons, communication technology, and other military materiel. The authentic atmosphere and expert commentary bring to life the service and daily routine of the soldiers of the State Defense Guard.
The museum is located in a picturesque setting among vineyards near Znojmo, with good accessibility by car and bicycle. Guided tours are available and can be ideally combined with hikes in the Podyjí National Park.
