Travel back to the ancient past in an archaeological park that faithfully reconstructs a Slavic hillfort and the life of our ancestors.
Archeopark Chotěbuz is a unique place where the history of Slavic settlement from the 6th to the 11th century comes to life. Covering more than 2 hectares, it features a reconstruction of a fortified hillfort with palisades, an entrance gate, residential houses, craft workshops, and even a burial ground. Everything is based on archaeological finds and historical sources.
Visitors can see typical Slavic dwellings – semi-subterranean houses, try out period crafts such as blacksmithing, weaving, or pottery, and learn about the daily life of the Slavs. The archaeological park holds regular events, including days of living history, demonstrations of martial arts, ancient crafts, and traditional Slavic cuisine. Interactive programs and games are prepared for children.
The archaeological park is located in a picturesque landscape near Chotěbuz close to Český Těšín, surrounded by forests and meadows. It is easily accessible by car and public transport. The tour takes approximately 1–2 hours and is suitable for all ages. There is also a refreshment stand and parking on site. Opening hours vary by season; we recommend checking the current information on the website.
