Adršpach Rock City

About this place

Unique rock labyrinth with wild rock towers, gorges, and romantic lakes invites exploration and hiking.

Adršpach Rock City is one of the most visited natural sites in the Czech Republic. It was formed by weathering of sandstones during the Cretaceous period and today forms a fascinating maze of rock towers, gorges, and platforms. The first tourists began to penetrate here in the 18th century, and in 1824 the first marked circuit was built.

Take a walk along the circular route approximately 3.5 km long, which will take you around iconic rock formations such as Starosta and Starostová, Milenci, or Homole cukru. Along the way, you will encounter the romantic Sand Lake and the Great Waterfall falling from a height of 16 meters. For the brave, there is the Small Waterfall with electrically powered boats that will take you into a mysterious gorge.

Entry to the rock city is subject to a fee, and during the main season we recommend online reservation. There are several refreshment stands in the area and a parking lot directly at the entrance. Don't forget sturdy footwear, as the terrain is sometimes challenging. The entire circuit takes about 2–3 hours and is suitable for families with children.
