Blegoš is a picturesque mountain with stunning views of the Julian Alps and Škofja Loka. A popular destination for hikers, with a mountain hut at the summit.
Blegoš (1,562 m) is a prominent mountain in the Škofja Loka Hills, offering panoramic views of the Julian Alps, Karawanks, and Kamnik-Savinja Alps. At the top stands the Koča na Blegošu hut with the Chapel of Our Lady of the Snows, built in the 1950s and later renovated.
According to legend, a giant once carried a sack of sand here; it tore and spilled the mountain. Today, marked trails lead to the summit from several directions – the most popular routes start in the villages of Davča or Leskovica. Along the way, you can admire mountain meadows and typical Slovenian nature.
For Czech tourists, Blegoš is easily accessible – it is only about an hour's drive from Ljubljana. We recommend setting out early in the morning to enjoy the peace and fresh air. The hut offers refreshments and, during the season, overnight accommodation.
