The highest mountain in the Beskids and the queen of the Polish Carpathians. It offers magnificent views and wild nature of rocky peaks.

Babia Góra, also known as the Mother of Bad Weather, is with its height of 1725 m above sea level the highest peak of the Beskid Żywiecki range and the entire Polish Western Beskids. Thanks to its unique fauna and flora, it has been declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a national park. From the summit, which is often surrounded by clouds, breathtaking panoramas of the High Tatras, Malá Fatra, and Oravská Magura open up on clear days.

Babia Góra is associated with many folk legends; the figure of the mysterious mountain spirit Babogorce is particularly famous. A wide network of marked trails is available for tourists, the most attractive being the red ridge trail. The most popular starting point on the Polish side is the Krowiarki Pass, which can be reached by car from the village of Lipnica Wielka.

When planning an ascent, one must account for sudden weather changes and, on the summit section, snowfields that persist until late spring. Most trails are undemanding, but the Perć Akademików section requires sturdy footwear and caution. At the summit, there is a wooden cross and a guest book where you can sign.
