Arkadia (Romantic Park)

About this place

A romantic landscape park with artificial ruins, ponds, and a mysterious atmosphere, ideal for history and nature lovers.

Arkadia Park, located near Łowicz, was built at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries by Princess Helena Radziwiłłowa. Inspired by English romantic parks, it offers visitors picturesque paths among artificial ruins, caves, and romantic structures such as the Temple of Diana, the High Gate, and the Water Temple dedicated to the water deity.

A walk around the calm lake, surrounded by centuries-old trees, transports you to a world of imagined past. The park also features a Gothic house, an aqueduct, and many other elements that create a unique scenery. Particularly impressive are the stone loggia with a view of the water and the castle ruins, evoking ancient times.

For Czech tourists, the easy connection from the nearby town of Łowicz (by train and bus) is an advantage. Admission is affordable, and a combined ticket with the nearby Nieborów Palace can be purchased. Allow at least 2 hours for the visit; spring or summer is ideal when the park is in bloom. Don't forget comfortable shoes, as some paths are unpaved.
