Germany's tallest structure with an observation deck at 203 m and a revolving restaurant. Unforgettable views of Berlin.
The TV tower at Alexanderplatz, at 368 meters, is Germany's tallest structure and one of Berlin's most iconic landmarks. Built between 1965 and 1969 according to the design of East German architects, it still symbolizes not only technical progress but also the troubled history of the divided city. Its sphere at 203 meters houses an observation deck and one floor above the famous revolving restaurant Sphere, which rotates 360° per hour.
From the observation deck, on clear days, a breathtaking panorama of the German capital opens up – from the Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag to Potsdamer Platz and the vast forests and lakes in the surroundings. Visitors can use a modern audio guide or enjoy coffee in the restaurant with a constantly changing view. The experience is enhanced by the futuristic elevator that takes you to the "star sphere" in just 40 seconds.
For Czech tourists: we recommend booking tickets online in advance to avoid the often long queues. The tower is easily accessible by public transport (S-Bahn, U-Bahn, trams and buses to Alexanderplatz) and you can also visit other attractions in the area, such as St. Mary's Church, the Red Town Hall, or the DDR Museum. The best views are offered in the evening hours at sunset – but then expect higher visitor numbers.
