Biograd na Moru

About this place

A charming resort with a rich history, crystal-clear sea, and a gateway to the Kornati Islands.

Biograd na Moru, located in the heart of Northern Dalmatia, is a popular destination for Czech tourists thanks to its beautiful beaches, clear sea, and relaxing atmosphere. Its history dates back to the 10th century when it was the seat of Croatian kings – for example, King Tomislav was crowned here. The town still bears traces of its rich past, especially in the charming old center with stone alleys and the Church of St. Anastasia.

Modern Biograd mainly attracts visitors with its long pebble and sandy beaches lined with pines providing pleasant shade. Boats depart from the local harbor for unforgettable trips to the Kornati National Park, one of the most beautiful archipelagos in the Mediterranean. Nearby you will also find the Fun Mirnovec amusement park, ideal for families with children.

For Czech travelers, Biograd is easily accessible by car via the A1 highway from Zagreb or by plane to Zadar (about 25 km away). The town offers a wide range of accommodation, from campsites to hotels, and boasts a pleasant promenade with restaurants where you can taste fresh fish and Dalmatian specialties. Don't forget to visit the local market, where you can buy fruit, cheese, and olive oil directly from farmers.
