Bad Kleinkirchheim

About this place

A picturesque spa town in the heart of the Nockberge, ideal for skiing, thermal springs, and summer hiking.

Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia is a charming spa town situated at an altitude of 1080 m above sea level, surrounded by the green hills of the Nockberge. It is famous for its thermal springs, whose beneficial effects were discovered by the Romans. Today, you can find the modern thermal complex Therme St. Kathrein with indoor and outdoor pools for year-round relaxation.

In winter, the place turns into a ski paradise – the local ski resort offers over 100 km of slopes and is part of a network of groomed trails. Cross-country skiing enthusiasts will appreciate the dozens of kilometers of trails in the area. In summer, an extensive network of hiking and cycling trails, the Kaiserburg golf course, and the scenic Nockalmstraße road, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, beckon. Families can enjoy numerous amusement parks and swimming in nearby lakes.

For Czech tourists, Bad Kleinkirchheim is accessible by car in a few hours and offers a wide range of accommodation – from guesthouses to hotel resorts. An advantage is that in many accommodations you get the Kärnten Card in summer with discounts on attractions, and in winter a lift pass that includes free entry to the thermal baths.
